Objective: Learners will find internet content that supports the curriculum they currently teach. They will explain how the integration of the technology will enhance their students' learning.


Reading - Chapter 3: A Constructivist Approach to the NETS.T

A. Views of Current Use Technology






  1. Watch the embedded video and tweet a reflection. The reflection should include how your views of technology in the classroom agree or disagree with what this video is saying.
  2. What are your current strengths in integrating technology and where do you think you need additional support? Tweet your thoughts.




B. Demonstrate Fluency in Technology

  1. Set up a Twitter Account where you can "Tweet" all new and improved learning. Great place to place questions for your learning community to help answer.

C. All learners will follow the preset class Twitter Account in order to follow the ideas of fellow classmates.

  1. Register your twitter account specifically created to follow the educational tract.
  2. Select to follow my Twitter feed at MBWindsor.
  3. Request addition to the ISTN.Nets List by typing @MBWindsor add to ISTE.Nets feed. All of the tweets for those participating in the ISTE.Nets learning environment will be kept and monitored together.

D. Evaluate Websites

  1. Use the link below to investigate ways to evaluate websites for authenticity and appropriate content.
  2. Use the Teacher Evaluation document to evaluate 3-5 educational websites.

G. Collaborate with Students, Peers, Parent, and Community


Scavenger Hunt of the ePals Global Community. Find the following items within the ePal community.
1. Find a classroom somewhere in the world researching or studying about a subject you teach with a group of children in the age group you teach.
2. Use the screen shot application to capture a picture of the content meeting the criteria you are seeking.
3. Tweet your selected project and share how you could incorporate it into your instruction.

Example: I am looking for a class of 15-20 children all within the age group of 10-12. I would like for them to become pen pals or e-pals and communicate about the environment where they live. I would like for this to occur in order to give my learners a greater exposure to the world around them.
